A beautiful, Christmas, Micro-Wedding Morning

Updated: Jan 8, 2021

On December 18th 2020, one day before most of the South East was plunged into Tier 4 rules (meaning no weddings and no close contact services) Holly and James got married at The Crazy Bear in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.

I had the pleasure of spending the morning with Holly and her mum at her family home in Aylesbury, providing Hair and Makeup for them both. The wonderful, crazy talented Suzy Elizabeth Photography was also there, to take these beautiful pictures of Holly's wedding morning.

Holly wanted a natural look with a little bit of something to compliment the festive wedding, so we did just that and added a beautiful gold sparkle on her eye lid using Gatsby Pigment by Peaches and Cream. I used Nars Radiant Longer for her base, Nars Laguna Bronzer to contour and the trusty Pillow Talk Lipstick by Charlotte Tilbury on her lips. We added some very light natural looking individual lashes and finished off with Soft and Gentle Highlighter by Mac to add an extra glow. For her hair we went for a braided bun with a side braid leading into it. Holly was super laid back, which was an absolute dream. The dress was from White Lace and Butterflies in Aylesbury and her hair adornment was by Ivory & Co.

Holly's lovely mum was such a pleasure to have around and looked after everyone perfectly. For her hair and makeup, we went for a bouncy blow-dry with lots of volume and a natural but elegant makeup.

Its always such an honour to be chosen to be part of a Bride's day. You witness incredibly intimate moments between family and close friends, that you'd never usually see. Holly's wedding morning had added significance, as she wasn't allowed to have any bridal party there due to Covid rules, so it really was just her and her parents, which was incredibly special. Below is an image of her Dad putting on the necklace he just gave her after seeing her for the first time as a Bride, in which is remarked 'Jesus Christ, you look absolutely stunning'.

Congratulations to Holly and James, I wish you every happiness for your lives together. I also congratulate you on the accomplishment of managing to get married in the middle of a pandemic, against all odds!
